People often say that you must work endlessly to achieve your dreams,
사람들은 말이야,
꿈을 이루려면 많이 노력해야 한다고 말하지만

but what truly matters is not the amount of effort,
but where your heart is invested.
정작 중요한 건 노력의 양이 아니라
어디에 그 마음을 쓰고 있느냐더라.

Studying because someone told you to,
or choosing a path just because others walk it—
누가 하라고 해서 하는 공부,
다들 가니까 나도 따라가는 선택은

these things consume your time,
but rarely change your life.
시간은 쓰이는데 삶은 달라지지 않는 경우가 많지.

Real change comes not from the road others say is right,
but from a single step in the direction you truly want.
정말 변화를 만드는 건
남들이 옳다 하는 길이 아니라
내가 진짜 원하는 방향으로 향한 한 걸음이야.

Whether that step is big or small doesn’t matter—
your heart must quietly agree.
크든 작든 상관없어.
내 마음이 고개를 끄덕이는 일이어야 의미가 생기지.

Life isn’t always easy.
살다 보면 현실은 당연히 쉽지 않아.

There are things you must calculate,
things you must endure,
and choices you must let go.
계산해야 할 것들이 있고,
피할 수 없는 상황들이 있고,
포기해야 하는 선택들도 생기지.

But that doesn’t mean
you must measure yourself by standards others created.
하지만 그렇다고
모든 걸 남들이 정해주는 기준에 맞출 필요는 없어.

You don’t need to force yourself into a line
where everyone moves identically.
사람들이 만들어 놓은 줄에 억지로 끼어들어
비슷한 속도, 비슷한 목표, 비슷한 모습으로
평생을 살아갈 이유는 없거든.

Pause, and ask yourself honestly—
한 번쯤은 멈춰서서 스스로에게 물어보면 좋겠어.

“What do I really want?”
“정말 내가 원하는 건 뭘까?”

“How do I spend my time in a way that feels meaningful?”
“내 시간을 가장 아깝지 않게 쓰는 방법은 뭘까?”

Shift your perspective just a little,
and new paths begin to appear.
시선을 조금만 돌려 보면
그동안 보이지 않던 길이 보이기 시작해.

Not the direction others insist is ‘forward,’
but the direction your heart quietly leans toward.
남들이 앞이라고 말하는 방향 말고,
내가 앞으로 가고 싶다고 느끼는 방향 말일세.

And remember this—
그리고 꼭 기억해.

Of all the things we possess,
the most precious and irreversible is time.
우리가 가진 것들 중
가장 귀하고, 가장 비싸고, 가장 되돌릴 수 없는 건
돈도, 기회도, 명예도 아니야.

It is time—
and how you choose to spend it shapes who you become.
시간이야.
그 시간을 누구에게 쓰고, 어떤 마음에 쓰고,
어떤 꿈을 위해 쓰느냐가
결국 우리의 모습을 만들어.

So allow yourself to step away from others’ standards,
and invest your time in becoming who you truly are.
그러니 다른 사람들의 기준에 자신을 맞추기보다
조금 더 솔직하게
조금 더 단단하게
나라는 사람에게 투자하는 시간을 가져도 좋다는 거야.

Because that choice—
that gentle, honest choice—
becomes the brightest part of your future.
그게 결국,
미래의 나를 가장 밝게 만드는 선택이니까.
